About the event
You are invited to join us for a Human Trafficking Workshop led by Dr. Stephany Powell and hosted by Saint Leo on Thursday October 20th.
Dr. Powell is a retired Vice Sergeant of the LAPD and currently the Vice President and Director of Law Enforcement Training at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation in Washington, D.C. Her workshop will be an excellent opportunity to know the warning signs of human trafficking, understand how traffickers recruit and, most importantly, know and understand how to set personal boundaries. Dr. Powell will also educate parents, teachers, and students on the various recruitment tactics used by traffickers including the use of popular social media sites.
This workshop is intended for parents/guardians, adult family members or friends you would like to invite, and students who are in high school or older. We do not recommend bringing young children to this event due to its heavy nature.
Human trafficking and sexual exploitation can affect anyone regardless of gender, race or social economic status. Prevention and awareness are needed to fight issues that deeply affect communities, individuals and family members on a daily basis! Please RSVP today!
